FAQ’s — Frequently Asked Questions

Q :- What’s Object Detection ?
A :- Identifying the presence of object/bunch of objects in a photo/frame.

Q :- Difference between object detection and identification ?
A :- Both are different terms which means as ‘Identifying the presence of a object and Recognizing what exactly the object is’.

Q :- Do computers see like humans?
A :- Computers have vision, but sees everything in terms of values which will be 0–1 in binary or 0 to 255 in RGB channels and so on.

Q :- Can computers identify/recognize objects like humans do ?
A :- Think of how we humans learnt to identify/recognize objects. We were taught from our childhood and learnt through longer trainings. So… if we could also train computers like humans , they too can recognize objects.

Q :- How to teach computers to recognize objects ?
A :- Give as many sample data(object pictures) as much as possible with the correct answer(object name) to the model(brain) which gets trained up to recognize objects.

Q :- Is it necessary to do this ? why can’t just humans recognize the objects to complete the work.
A :- Humans do get exhausted and prone to errors. Humans do have higher degree tasks rather than these tasks which can be automated. A well-trained yolo model is very powerful, accurate and faster too.
